Project Overview

  • Creator & Lead Engineer: Vishwa R (Kyroceus)
  • Role: Full-Stack Architecture, Mobile App Development, Backend API Engineering, GCP Infrastructure Setup
  • Status: Live in production since 2024 with 50+ active customers
  • Platforms: Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (Apple App Store)
  • Live URL: nammastore.co.in

The Problem It Solves

Small local grocery stores face severe operational challenges competing with capitalized hyper-delivery apps:

  1. High aggregator commissions that eat into thin margins.
  2. Complex inventory onboarding requiring specialized hardware or dedicated tech staff.
  3. Unreliable delivery visibility causing customer anxiety and abandoned carts.

Namma Store solves this by providing a streamlined, lightweight cross-platform ordering and store management system tailored specifically for regional merchant dynamics with zero operational overhead.

Technical Stack & Architecture

  • Mobile Client: React Native (cross-platform iOS & Android)
  • Backend: Node.js, Express REST API
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Database & Storage: Scalable cloud document/relational store with managed backup
  • Authentication & Security: JWT-based session auth, encrypted credentials, SSL-enforced endpoints
  • Push Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for instant order state updates

Key Implementation Details

  1. Multi-Environment Pipeline: Established strict separation across Development, Staging, and Production environments to ensure safe feature iteration, stress testing, and zero-downtime releases.
  2. Real-Time Inventory & Order Tracking: Implemented low-latency order status state machines that notify merchants and customers instantaneously at every step (Order Placed → Packed → Out for Delivery → Delivered).
  3. Optimized API Responses: Structured lean payloads and cached catalog metadata to ensure fast initial render times even on 3G and spotty mobile network connections.
  4. Resilient Offline UX: Graceful error handling and retry queues ensuring carts and pending actions are preserved if network connection drops.
